Councillor Hill acknowledged Elder Mike Maurice on his recent retirement from the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Board and outlined his successes.

Councillor Gough expressed appreciation to those involved with the Winter Cities Shake-Up Conference recently held in Saskatoon.  

Items 8.2.2 and 8.3.1 were removed from the Consent Agenda.

Request to Speak - Randy Pshebylo, Riversdale BID, dated January 28, 2019

Mr. Pshebylo requested that decorative lighting start earlier in November to accommodate the retail businesses for the holiday season indicating all the Business Improvement Districts have expressed the same interest.

It was noted that Councillor Dubois was not connected on the conference call.

Councillor Jeffries made the following inquiry:

"Would the Administration please report back on options to ensure the safety of properties and pedestrians near the corner of Patrick Crescent and Muzyka Road near Brace Cove.  Jersey barriers at this location were removed and this has created a situation that is less than safe, especially during icy road conditions."

The City Clerk reported that Councillor Donauer provided the following notice of motion at the Regular Business Meeting of City Council held on December 17, 2018.

"1.  That the proposed organics program be put on hold until further notice from Council, and that the City of Saskatoon look at conducting a pilot organics program, before the city-wide roll-out.  In the pilot, consideration for current composters to opt out should be factored in; and

2.  That the Administration also report on the expansion of the voluntary organics program, and a prohibition on organics from the landfill and black bins."

This item was considered with Item 10.1.1.

City Manager Jorgenson advised he had Urgent Business regarding a personnel matter and requested it be considered In Camera.

    Council received a verbal report on a personnel matter and received legal advice.

    The Committee moved to rise and report at 4:05 p.m. and convened publicly immediately thereafter.
