PUBLIC HEARING MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL

  • Recommendation

    That the agenda be approved as presented.

  • Recommendation

    That the minutes of the Public Hearing meeting of City Council held on December 21, 2020 be approved.

There are no Land Use matters for consideration.

A report of the Chief Financial Officer, dated January 25, 2021 is provided along with the notice that appeared in the local press on January 16 and 18, 2021.

  • Recommendation

    That the planned borrowing to finance the following projects be approved, in principle, through capital budgets and capital plans:

    1. Up to $30,881,000 for the North East Sector Reservoir (Capital Project 2219);
    2. Up to $3,708,000 for the Wastewater N40 Forcemain (Capital Project 2592);

    3. Up to $7,000,000 for the Civic Accommodation Plan (Capital Project 1949);

    4. Up to $4,250,000 for the Fire – Regional Training Facility (Capital Project 2525); and

    5. An allowable 10% variance on the borrowing requirements for each project identified. Any variance greater than 10% of the borrowing amount identified must be reported to City Council.

A report of General Manager, Transportation and Construction, dated January 25, 2021 is provided along with Bylaw 9735 and notice that appeared in the local press on January 9 and 11, 2021.

  • Recommendation
    1. That City Council consider Bylaw No. 9735, The Street Closing Bylaw, 2021;
    2. That after closure, the right-of-way be re-designated and be part of City Yards; and
    3. That all costs associated with the closure be paid for by the applicants, including Solicitor’s fees and disbursements.
