The Chair called the meeting to order on Treaty 6 Territory and the Traditional Homeland of the Métis People and confirmed roll call.

Chief McBride spoke to the following:

  • SPS are engaging in consultation to develop the foundation for the 2025 and beyond strategic plan. 
  • Welcomed and hosted her honour Bernadette McIntyre for the presentation of Kings Coronation medals. 
  • SPS is hosting their annual diversity breakfast on March 21, 2025. 
  • Travelled to Red Deer to visit the Child Advocacy Centre. 
  • SPS are fully engaged in the work of combatting the presence of fentanyl in Saskatoon.
  • In the final stages of putting together an operational plan regarding enforcement of bear spray possession and use in the community.
  • Attended the Riversdale Business Improvement District townhall meeting on March 17, 2025.
  • Attended the child advocacy centre fundraising event on March 18, 2025.
  • Attended the FASD Network information night on March 19, 2025.
  • Attending the Nowruz Persian New Year celebration on March 21, 2025. 
  • Attending the Black Business Expo on March 22, 2025. 

Chief McBride responded to questions of the Board.

The Board of Police Commissioners 2024 Strategic Plan Status Report was provided. 

BPC Communication Consultant Nyirfa presented the report.

    That the Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners 2024 Strategic Plan Status Report be approved as presented and posted to the Board's website for public information.

Deputy Chief Haye and Director of Legal Services Smith left the meeting at 3:14 p.m.

Chief McBride left the meeting at 3:22 p.m.

Board Solicitor Edmondson left the meeting at 3:41 p.m.

The Board completed its In Camera session at 3:49 p.m. and reconvened publicly to rise and report, as follows:
