Retired Chief Cooper and retired Deputy Chief Yuzdepski received lifetime achievement awards. Kayla Oishi, Access and Privacy Officer received a leadership award. Sergeant Kyla Hicks and Sergeant Aaron Moser also received leadership awards; May 13, 2024 hosted several dignitaries and released information on temporary Saskatchewan Firearms Lab within our facility; Peace and Respect Awards - May 23, 2024; Hosted EXPLORE Emergency Services event - May 11, 2024; National Police Week. A message will be sent to all SPS members on Friday, May 17, 2024; Provided an update on a recommendation from the Board at the March 21, 2024 public meeting that requested the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) report back in collaboration with City of Saskatoon Finance Department about what options could be explored for reporting of SPS Audit results to the Board of Police Commissioners. It was noted that SPS is included in the broader City annual audit process; Attended Calling Home Ceremony on May 3, 2024; Provided an update on a recommendation from the Board at the April 18, 2024 public meeting that the information be referred, along with the published report to the service, and that the Saskatoon Police Service review the findings and consider opportunities for social procurement such as Community-Driven Outcomes Purchasing and report back to the Board. SPS reviewed existing programs from a financial and time investment perspective.
