The Chair called the meeting to order on Treaty 6 Territory and the Homeland of the Métis People. Roll call was taken.

      • Michael Brennan, Great Western Brewing Company, dated February 14, 2022; and​
    2. That the agenda be approved as amended.

    ​That the minutes of Regular Meeting of the Municipal Planning Commission held on January 25, 2022 be adopted.

A report from the Administration was provided along with the following requests to speak:

  • Mitchel Strocen, aodbt Architecture, dated February 11, 2022; and
  • Michael Brennan, Great Western Brewing Company, dated February 14, 2022.

Senior Planner McAdam presented the report with a PowerPoint and responded to questions of the Commission.

The following speakers addressed the Commission regarding the matter and responded to questions of the Commission:

Following discussion, the Commission was further informed of the following:

  • The amount of parking spaces for the site will be accounted for in the zoning agreement;
  • Landscaping requirements included in the zoning agreement will include options for alternative forms of landscaping;
  • The existing trees on the Northeast side of the site will remain; and
  • The expansion will allow for a tourism component including hosting events.

No concerns were expressed.

    That a copy of the February 15, 2022 report of the General Manager, Community Services be submitted to City Council recommending that at the time of the Public Hearing, City Council consider Administration’s recommendation that the amendment to Bylaw No. 8770, Zoning Bylaw, 2009 to rezone 519 2nd Avenue North to IH – Heavy Industrial District, subject to a Zoning Agreement, as outlined in the report be approved.

A list of reports that were considered by City Council at its Public Hearing meeting on January 31, 2022 was provided.

Chelsea Parent provided a verbal report.
