The Chair called the meeting to order on Treaty 6 Territory and the Traditional Homeland of the Métis people.

General Manager, Transportation and Construction Schmidt presented the report.

Letters from the following were provided:

  • Bill Lehne, Chair, Saskatoon Accessibility Advisory Committee, dated February 13, 2020;
  • Mildred Kerr, dated February 14, 2020.

The Chair acknowledged that Mildred Kerr was in the gallery and wished to address the Committee.

Mildred Kerr expressed concern with regard to the current Access Transit system and the impact it has on dialysis patients.

    That the information be forwarded to City Council, including a recommendation that it be forwarded to the Saskatchewan Health Authority outlining the impact of the current system on the existing Access Transit program and the clients of the dialysis program, in support of the pursuit of solutions.

    That at the appropriate time, while the Administration is reviewing the posted speed limit residential review, that the Briarwood Community Center be included for consideration as a playground zone.

    That the Standing Policy Committee on Transportation recommend to City Council:

    That the criteria for prioritizing transportation projects, as provided in the report of the General Manager, Transportation and Construction Department, dated March 2, 2020, be approved.
