    That the minutes of regular meeting of the Saskatoon Accessibility Advisory Committee held on January 10, 2020 be adopted.

No update was provided.

Committee Member Montgomery provided an update advising that the City of Saskatoon was awarded the Age Friendly Award. The Saskatoon Council on Aging had accepted the award on behalf of the City of Saskatoon and presented the award at City Council on January 27, 2020.  A video from City Council was shown to the Committee.

The Standing Policy Committee on Transportation, at its meeting held on January 13, 2020, considered a letter dated January 2, 2020 from Darren Gilchrist, President, Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians (AEBC Saskatoon). The Committee resolved that the matter be referred to the Saskatoon Accessibility Advisory Committee for feedback to the Administration. 

Deputy City Clerk Bryant had indicated, at the Standing Policy Committee on Transportation meeting, that there was a previous resolution that the Leadership Team Governance Subcommittee be directed to engage with the Advisory Committees with respect to the revised Terms of Reference by the second quarter of 2021, and suggested this item could be included with that review.

During discussion on the matter, Committee Assistant Thompson indicated that there are public member vacancies available on the Saskatoon Accessibility Advisory Committee.  The Committee agreed to send a communication to Darren Gilchrist inviting him to apply for a vacancies on the Committee and requested have this matter added to the Leadership Team Governance Subcommittee review.

Senior Planner Ketilson provided a PowerPoint presentation to the Committee outlining the updates to the Official Community Plan related to accessibility.  Long Range Planning Manager McShane advised Committee that there will be a future review.  The Committee provided update suggestions for the next review.

This is a standing item on the agenda for the Committee, and/or any subcommittees, to provide updates regarding items on its work plan and any matters being referred to the Standing Policy Committee for
consideration.

As stated in the Terms of Reference, the Committee shall submit an annual report, in the prescribed form, outlining the previous year's accomplishments and a work plan for the upcoming year, to City Council
through the Standing Policy Committee on Planning, Development and Community Services. This report shall be submitted by March 31, 2020 and serve to demonstrate how the Committee remains relevant and
current.

A draft of the 2019 Annual Report and 2020 Work Plan was provided. The Committee was requested to review and prepare for discussion on the 2020 work plan section.

During discussion on the matter the Committee deferred discussion on work plan items to the next meeting of the Committee.

    That the Saskatoon Accessibility Advisory Committee approve the 2019 Annual Report and defer the discussion of the 2020 Work Plan to the March meeting of the Committee.

A request from the Education and Awareness Subcommittee was provided. An expression of support was provided by the Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan to assist the Committee in the promotion of the event. This in kind contribution will be recorded in the Committee's budget expenditures for transparency.
