The Chair called the meeting to order on Treaty 6 Territory and the Traditional Homeland of the Métis People and confirmed roll call.

Chair Commissioner Greyeyes provided the following verbal report:

  • The Chair  thanked Commissioner Lajimodiere for chairing the August meeting in her absence.
  • The Chair and Chief have been in regular communication regarding ongoing matters.
  • Appreciation was expressed for the Chief and staff's efforts in managing current events.
  • A communique was sent to police service members to keep them informed, with positive feedback received.

Chief McBride provided the following verbal report.

  • The Chief attended a provincial funding announcement with Commissioner Mayor Block.
  • Saskatoon Police Service hosted the Diversity Disco event, which was well attended.
  • The Chief presented on policing approaches at the Governance and Priorities Committee in September.
  • Upcoming activities include hosting government officials at the Youth Advocacy Center, participating in the STC reconciliation powwow, and joining the Sanctum 36-hour homeless challenge.
  • The Chief will also participate in a Métis cultural eating contest.

City Council, at its meeting held on June 25, 2025, considered the above-noted matter and resolved, in part, that the Board of Police Commissioners be requested to report on potential budget reductions that would reduce their total funding ask by up to 4%.

City Clerk Tittemore introduced the matter.
