The Chair called the meeting to order on Treaty 6 Territory and the Traditional Homeland of the Métis People and confirmed roll call.

    1. That the email from Stan Yu, Research and Communications Coordinator, Canadian Centre for the Study of Co-operatives (CCSC), including the following additional documents, be added to Item 1.4.1:
      • "More than a job, finally" - Lived Experiences of Build Up Saskatoon Participants;
      • Working it Out - Estimating the Social Value of Build Up Saskatoon; and
      • Turning Up the Dial on Saskatoon's Social Procurement - A Multi-City Policy Analysis.
    2. That the agenda be confirmed as amended.

Stan Yu, Research and Communications Coordinator, Canadian Centre for the Study of Co-operatives (CCSC) provided the following additional documents in relation to the presentation:

  • "More than a job, finally" - Lived Experiences of Build Up Saskatoon Participants;
  • Working it Out - Estimating the Social Value of Build Up Saskatoon; and
  • Turning Up the Dial on Saskatoon's Social Procurement - A Multi-City Policy Analysis.

Aaron Timoshyk, Quint Development Corporation - Build Up addressed the Board and responded to questions.

Interim Chief Haye responded to questions of the Board.

Interim Chief Haye spoke to the following:

  • National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week - April 14 to 20, 2024. As part of that program Sask 911 awarded the Excellence in Teamwork Award to our C Platoon – Special Constables in communications including Special Constables Dueck, Nemanishen, Braithwaite, Reid, Melrose, Viczko, Best, Micalacean, Leibel, Fehr and Coloma;
  • National Volunteer Week - April 14 to 20, 2024, recognized all SPS volunteers;
  • Received note of thanks from Saskatoon Crisis Intervention Services for the support provided to them by SPS and City of Saskatoon for their programs;
  • Received a report from Statistics Canada on police resources in Canada;
  • SPS is hosting the Calling Home Ceremony - May 3, 2024;
  • EXPLORE Emergency Services event - May 11, 2024. This event is hosted by SPS and Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) highlighting careers in policing and firefighting to women and girls; and
  • Badge Shield and Star Dinner - April 24, 2024.

Board Solicitor Edmondson left the meeting at 4:44 p.m.

Communications Consultant Nyirfa left the meeting 5:06 p.m.

The Board completed its In Camera session at 5:10 p.m. and reconvened publicly to rise and report.

Commissioner Jeffries excused himself from the meeting at 5:10 p.m.
