Police Chief Appointment

A report of the Board of Police Commissioners is provided.

• Recommendation

  That Cameron McBride be appointed as Chief of Police for the Saskatoon Police Service for a five-year term.

5.2

Measurement and Evaluation Committee - Board Member Evaluations

A report of the Measurement and Evaluation Committee is provided.

• Recommendation

  That the Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners approve a board member evaluation process as set out in the May 16, 2024 report of the Measurement and Evaluation Committee.

5.3

Measurement and Evaluation Committee - Terms of Reference

A report of the Measurement and Evaluation Committee is provided.

• Recommendation

  That the Measurement and Evaluation Terms of Reference be amended as follows:

  1. That the sentence “iv. As per the Board’s Governance Policy, develop and maintain a process for evaluating the work of the Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners, for approval by the Board.” be added to section 1.0 – Roles and Responsibility; and
  2. That Section 2.0 – Membership be amended to state “The Measurement & Evaluation Committee will consist of selected Commissioners and supported by Board staff.”

  That the Board move In Camera to consider matters exempt to the public under its Governance Policy No. 12.4, Section 10(2) of The Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners Bylaw No. 7531, Section 27(15) of The Police Act, 1990, and Section 16(1)(b) and (d), 21 and 28 of The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
