The Chair called the meeting to order on Treaty 6 Territory and the Traditional Homeland of the Métis People and confirmed roll call.

    Item 6.3.6 was considered next.


A report of the Transportation and Construction Division was provided and presented by General Manager of Transportation and Construction Schmidt.

    That the Standing Policy Committee on Transportation recommend to City Council that:

    1. $176,861.50 from the Civic Vehicles and Equipment Replacement Reserve be allocated to Capital Project P.01361 – V&E Fuel Stations;
    2. $111,447.39 from the Transportation & Construction Corporate Capital Reserve be allocated to Capital Project P.02259 – PW Satellite Yards;
    3. $593,298.66 from the Traffic Safety Reserve be allocated to Capital Project P.02281 – Neighbourhood Traffic Reviews and Traffic Safety; and
    4. $249,858.19 from the Traffic Safety Reserve be allocated to Capital Project P.02282 – Roadside Safety Improvements.

A report of the Transportation and Construction Division was provided and presented by Director of Transportation Magus. 


He responded to questions of the Committee.

    That the Standing Policy Committee on Transportation recommend to City Council that the Mayor write a letter to the Minister of Crown Investments Corporation for further discussion on the suggestions offered by the Administration on the updates to the SGI driver handbook.

A letter requesting to speak from Ted Hansen, dated August 21, 2024, was provided.


The Committee heard from Ted Hansen on the matter, who responded to questions of the Committee.


General Manager of Transportation and Construction Schmidt responded to questions of the Committee.  The Administration undertook to contact the RM of Corman Park regarding the location. 

Mayor Clark excused himself from the meeting at 3:42 p.m.
