Approval Reports

7.2.1

Bylaw No. 7200, The Traffic Bylaw Update – Schedule No. 2 No Stopping [File No. CK 6320-1]

A report of the General Manager, Transportation and Construction is provided.

• Recommendation

  That the Standing Policy Committee on Transportation recommend to City Council:

  1. That Schedule No. 2 in Bylaw No. 7200, The Traffic Bylaw be amended to clarify that drivers should not stop along any medians.
  2. That the City Solicitor be requested to prepare the appropriate amendment to Bylaw No. 7200, The Traffic Bylaw.

7.2.2

Review of the Residential Parking Program [File No. CK 6120-4-2]

A report of the General Manager, Community Services is provided.

• Recommendation

  That the Standing Policy Committee on Transportation recommend to City Council:

  1. That the recommended program modifications respecting the Residential Parking Program, as outlined in Appendix 1 of this report, be adopted;
  2. That the City Solicitor be requested to prepare the appropriate amendments to Bylaw No. 7862, The Residential Parking Program Bylaw, 1999; and
  3. That the City Clerk be requested to repeal Policy C07-014, Residential Parking Permit Program.

7.2.3

Saskatoon Transportation Strategy – Infrastructure Plan [Files CK 7000-1, x1700-1]

A report of the General Manager, Transportation and Construction is provided.

• Recommendation

  That the Standing Policy Committee on Transportation recommend to City Council:

  1. That the list of prioritized transportation projects be approved in principle; and
  2. That the information within this report be included in the next multi-year budget cycle.

Decision Reports

7.3.1

Parking in the Broadway Area – 1002 Broadway Avenue [File No. CK 6120-1]

A report of the General Manager, Transportation and Construction is provided.

• Recommendation

  The Administration is recommending Option 3 to install a three-hour parallel parking zone on the 500 block of 9^th Street East in front of 1002 Broadway Avenue.

7.3.2

Capital Project #2550 – West Central Multi-Use Corridor – May 2020 Update [File No. CK 6000-5]

A report of the General Manager, Transportation and Construction is provided.

• Recommendation

  That the Standing Policy Committee on Transportation recommend to City Council:

  1. That the Administration continue discussions with CP with the goals of:
     1. Obtaining an approved detailed design;
     2. Entering into a lease agreement with CP for the required lands between Avenue D South and Avenue F South;
     3. Entering into a lease agreement for the required lands between Avenue F South and approximately Avenue K South;

  2. That if a design and leasing agreements can be reached with CP, the Administration bring forward a project update and budget request to City Council;

  3. That if a design and leasing agreements cannot be reached with CP by May 1, 2021, the project be abandoned; and

  4. That Capital Project #2550 – West Central Multi-Use Corridor project be adjusted to remove the budgeted RSIP funding in the amount of $1.172M.
