The Deputy City Clerk called the meeting to order on Treaty 6 Territory and the Traditional Homeland of the Métis people, and confirmed roll call of the members in attendance via teleconference.

The Deputy City Clerk reported that City Council, at its Regular Business Meeting held on November 30, 2020 made the following appointments for 2021:

Deputy City Clerk Bryant opened nominations for Chair.

Director of Transportation Magus provided a PowerPoint and answered questions of the Committee.

    1. That the Accessibility of Alternative Routes be assessed and accessibility improvements be prioritized for implementation if and when sidewalk infill is not pursued at any given prioritized location; and
    2. That the information be received.

General Manager, Community Services Lacroix updated the Committee regarding the work that has been completed regarding the Bylaw 3655 Amendment Proposal item on the referral list dealing with sidewalk safety and electrical cord use, and asked that the file be closed.

Director of Transportation Magus reviewed the report and together with Brian Patterson, Urban Systems, provided a PowerPoint regarding the project.

    That the Standing Policy Committee on Transportation recommend to City Council that the 31st Street Bikeway, Pedestrian and Traffic Safety Improvement Project be approved in principle.
