Call to Order

The A/Chair called the meeting to order on Treaty 6 Territory and the Traditional Homeland of the Métis People and confirmed roll call.

Chief's Report

Chief McBride spoke to the following:

• July 9, 2024 - Attended RCMP Sunset ceremony in Regina, SK;
• July 11, 2024 – summer pipe ceremony for the service;
• July 19, 2024 – back to the tosh. Provided information to the public;
• Conclusion of the search for Mackenzie Trottier.  Acknowledged the Provincial Government for coming forward with the assistant in funding;
• August 11 to 13, 2024 - Attended Canadian Association Chief of Police Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia;
• August 14, 2024 - Deputy Pringle participating in the EGADZ Day of Mourning, remembering victims of the sex trade;
• August 19, 2024 - Will be attending and providing a presentation at a North Saskatchewan Business Association luncheon;
• August 30, 2024 – Will be attending the White Buffalo Youth Lodge Pancake Breakfast;
• September 6 to 8, 2024 - Will be attending Saskatoon's Métis Cultural Days; and
• The complex needs shelter has opened at 1701 Idylwyld Drive North.

2024 Mid-Year Business Plan Update

A report of the Chief of Police was provided.

SPS Executive Director Arscott presented the report with a PowerPoint. Together with Chief McBride and Deputy Chief Pringle, they responded to questions of the Board.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Audit Results Report

A report of the Chief of Police was provided.

Chief McBride provided a brief introduction on the matter.  SPS Executive Director Arscott presented the report and noted Ela de Leon, DEI Operations Manager, Winnie Lu, DEI Consultant and Hannah Stegen, Lead Consultant, CultureAlly were in attendance.

Ela de Leon provided a presentation on the matter and responded to questions of the Board.

Chief McBride responded to questions of the Board along with SPS Executive Director Arscott and Superintendent Gresty.

The Board completed its In Camera session at 3:19 p.m. and reconvened publicly to rise and report, as follows:
