The Chair called the meeting to order on Treaty 6 Territory and the Traditional Homeland of the Métis People and confirmed roll call.

Chair Greyeyes attended a meeting with the Canadian Association of Police Governance (CAPG) First Nations Governance Committee. The CAPG First Nations Governance Conference held in February 2025 went extremely well.  They are planning a second conference for the fall.

  • Attended the City of Saskatoon Round Dance on March 28, 2025
  • Attended India Night, hosted by India Canada Cultural Association on March 29, 2025
  • Attended HMCS Unicorn Annual Inspection and Parade on April 2, 2025
  • Cadet Orientation Police Studies Program (C.O.P.S) graduation took place April 6, 2025
  • Attended Permanent Working Group meeting in Ottawa, ON, as Chair of the Provincial Executive Committee for Criminal Intelligence Services on April 9, 2025
  • On April 10 to 12, 2025. the Saskatoon Police Blues hockey team hosted and won the Western Canadian Police Championship for the first time in 50 years
  • Attended Bangla New Year Festival on April 13, 2025
  • National Telecommunicators Week – April 13 to 19, 2025
  • Attended Peace and Respect Awards on April 16, 2025
  • SPS and City have planned many events for Red Dress Day on May 5, 2025, including a walk starting from Saskatoon Police Headquarters
  • Congratulated Deputy Chief Haye on his retirement at the end of April 2025

City Clerk Tittemore spoke to the matter and advised that the Board does not have the authority to provide direction to City Administration. The Board can give direction to the Saskatoon Police Service. The Board will respond to the writer.

A report of the Chief of Police was provided.

Chief McBride introduced the item. Sergeant J. Earl presented the report. She responded to questions of the Board along with Chief McBride and Deputy Chief Haye.

The CAPG annual conference has been scheduled for August 14 to 16, 2025 at Victoria, BC. The Board is requested to determine and approve members to attend.

    That authorization be provided for Commission members to attend CAPG 36th Conference in Victoria, BC from August 14 to 16, 2025 with expenses paid for by the Board.

The Board completed its In Camera session at 3:21 p.m. and reconvened publicly to rise and report, as follows:
