At its meeting held on April 18, 2024, the Board of Police Commissioners resolved that the Saskatoon Police Service review the findings and consider opportunities for social procurement such as community-driven outcomes purchasing and report back to the Board.


In this regard, a report of the Chief of Police is provided.

At its meeting held on March 21, 2024, the Board of Police Commissioners resolved in part that the report of the Interim Chief of Police be forwarded to the appropriate committee of Saskatoon City Council for a response.


In this regard, an email from City Council's Governance and Priorities Committee, dated May 17, 2024 is provided. This item is on the agenda for the Board's information.

With the departure of the current vice-chair on June 30, 2024, the Board should consider electing a new vice-chair effective July 1, 2024.

In accordance with Policy No. 12.8 of the Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners Governance Policy, TAKE NOTICE that Commissioner Gough will move:


"That the Saskatoon Police administration provide an update report in follow up to the April 2022 and December 2022 reports regarding:

  • Decriminalization for Simple Possession of Illicit Drugs
  • Diversion for Possession of Illicit Drug Charges and other Criminal Code Offences."

    That the Board move In Camera to consider matters exempt to the public under its Governance Policy No. 12.4, Section 10(2) of The Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners Bylaw No. 7531, Section 27(15) of The Police Act, 1990, and Section 16(1)(b) and (d), 21 and 28 of The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
